Bon dia. I am writing in English to make sure I get the feeling just right. Maybe this is not the right forum, but please know I'm asking this with nothing but respect and love. So, a few years ago I basically lost everything, and I ended up in the hospital as a result of a suicide attempt. For over a year I was convinced that I was never going to be able to leave my bedroom again, but after a lot of therapy and a small return to normality my friend managed to talk me into a super guiri coded trip to Barcelona. It was my first time being abroad since childhood (I'm Scandinavian). I don't drink alcohol nor do I like crowded places or heat, so while the group I travelled with did classic tourist shit I took some random train out to Terrassa, Cerdanyola, Sabadell and basically just found shadow or museums or some place to read. I had learned some basic Catalan before going, and I noticed that people really enjoyed that. Just by ordering tea I felt like I made friends, and locals offered to show me around or give me special tours of the museums etc. I've never felt more home, and I think I decided already there and then that this is where I wanted to be until forever. I live outside of Girona now, I'm decent in Catalan and I just started my PhD focusing on the political history of Catalonia. I'm a politically active leftist, and have really found a community here. Now, to my question: I want to get a tattoo, haha. I want to get something to honor my new home and celebrate this journey, plus also express some political alignment. When I ask my catalan friends they just laugh and ask why I would want to have a symbol of their "shitty" (said lovingly) country on my body. Their reactions make me worry it might seem like fetishism or appropriating, even if they mainly seem to find it funny. I would love to get a tattoo of the flag (maybe super simple, as in four lines and a star. Or even four lines that simply have the cutout of a triangle to show its the Estelada) but I worry I might be sending signals I don't fully understand. I was considering Montserrat or some other more... physical symbol. But a lot of them carry religious symbolism and that's not really what I'm getting at. I don't know. Maybe the very idea is disrespectful. I simply just need input from someone that's a) not my friend that will just laugh and b) knowledgeable in Catalan culture and codes. It would not be disrespectful at all nor signaling that you don't understand; all the opposite, it's a deep show of appreciation. I think your friends find it funny because it's unusual and, as you said, because they're your friends and friends always joke around with each other.

I honestly can't imagine anyone feeling like a tattoo like the ones you mentioned are disrespectful, fetishism nor appropriating. First of all because you have full knowledge of what you're deciding to tattoo and you are doing it from a point of appreciation, celebration, and also connection with an important part of your life. The only case I feel it's laughable is when people don't know what they're getting (for example, a friend showed me a TikTok where a foreign girl had gotten the tattoo "Besòs Mar" after the metro station in Barcelona for said neighbourhood at the end of the Besòs river —a neighborhood that doesn't have the best reputation, to put it lightly— and was showing it off pronouncing it badly and claiming it means "sea kisses" by her Google-Translate-level Spanish lmao. That's just stupid and will get her made fun of, but it's in every way all the opposite of what you're talking about).

All the options you mentioned seem completely okay to me. As always, everyone (especially Catalan people in this case) is welcome to add their opinion in the comments, but as I said I seriously can't imagine anyone taking an issue with it. I think people's reaction will be more of a mix of "wow!" and "aww ❤️".

I've been thinking of more physical symbols, I could think of a sickle, in reference to the reapers/els segadors, who were the poorest agricultural workers and marched to Barcelona in 1640 to kill the viceroy and to revolt against the monarchy that was restricting Catalonia's historical rights in favour of the king in Castilla. As you'll know, the reapers have become a symbol of Catalonia since then, and the folk song created during that war ended up becoming Catalonia's national anthem.

You could also do the shape of another mountain (Montserrat was a good shout but I understand the point about religious elements), you could do the Pedraforca or the Canigó, though the Canigó's shape isn't as recognizable and even less outside of Northern Catalonia. Maybe there's some place that you remember from your first trip or from your time here that you've enjoyed, or that you've seen often, a building or something else that you can do its silhouette.

I know this is super random but this is my biggest tumblr acct with the most followers and reach so I’m asking here-

Does anybody in my followers have narcolepsy and if so, would you mind explaining your experience with it and how quickly it developed and if you have sleep paralysis as a symptom? (Btw. I’m asking abt sleep paralysis bc I know it is a common symptom but I. Do not have it! So I mostly wanna get a baseline on if you can definitely be narcoleptic without that symptom)

And any info on how you experience cataplexy if you have type 1.

I am having a bout of very concerning worsening symptoms and want to get some info from a place other than web md before I go to my doctor, but I am quite concerned with how things are currently going.

I’m now gonna explain my current symptoms I’m worried about- I’m not expecting anyone here to diagnose me but it would help if anyone narcoleptic let’s me know if this resonates with their experiences pre diagnosis.

Anyways. I’ve always had sleeping problems, though it’s always leaned far more towards insomnia. Except for the past month or so… I’ve been getting so so tired in the day despite having slept my normal amount. And I’ve started nodding off at seemingly random times witn seemingly little correlation to how tired I am. I have literally fallen asleep while playing overwatch and continued “playing” (albeit walking directly into walls). This is all very odd and a lot of the time I’m not even aware I fell asleep until I wake up and my boyfriend tells me it’s been an hour or so.

Edit: I also have had hallucinations while falling asleep ever since I was a kid, and apparently that can also be influenced by narcolepsy? So. Something to add

I do not know if I get cataplexy at all, though I know it isn’t a requirement. I do not get sleep paralysis, but I also am hyper paranoid about it and preventing it so I’m not sure if that influences it. I’m probably gonna be going to my doctor regardless to get a sleep study done but I’d really appreciate any input from narcoleptics on how it transpired for them. I’m only 24 so it feels a little late to develop something like this but the internet has told me it can technically develop at any age and can develop quite rapidly- and currently it does seem to only be getting worse :/ so im. Worried! Anyways. Thank you for reading and any insight you can give

hello!! can I have your input and share my thoughts with you? i personally can’t get myself to believe in any gods, but I do feel strongly connected to nature and I love the idea of Mother Earth. I would want to worship her, but i don’t think I can make myself believe in her as a god even if I want to. I don’t know how. i love the idea of worshipping(?) nature/the earth and even celestial bodies. not sure if worship is the right word. It’s a strong one. idk if I believe in spirits/souls, but objects and such do feel alive,, I know logically they have no heart and brain but it’s a feeling. and I want to believe in ghosts. I relate to pantheism and animism. I love the concept of reincarnation and I feel connected to certain places and animals in a deep strange way, but don’t know if I actually believe in it. I’m worried about culturally appropriating by being an animist though. overall I feel left out because I don’t believe in gods, and I hear that others do not like when you worship them more so as metaphors/personifications rather than as actual gods. I feel wrong doing so. but today hearing that some people worship Gaia makes me want to. but what would worship even mean? I’m not exactly interested in praying, magic, or rituals. I just like being in nature and feeling and respecting it. I’d maybe like an altar. but I worry if I try to worship Gaia or anything, I’d feel fake and silly because I don’t believe in gods. and I worry people would just see me as an “atheist trying to be special” or worse,, I worry about cultural appropriation. I really don’t want to cause any harm to anyone!

First, there is nothing wrong with not believing in the Gods - please do not feel guilty or bad if you don't believe in them. At the end of the day, you can't force a belief in deities, and that's okay!!

Secondly, animism is not cultural appropriation - animism is the belief that everything has a spiritual essence, it is not a belief that belongs to one specific culture or religion (though it is a prevalent belief across many modern and ancient Indigenous cultures).

As for worshipping Nature (as a Mother figure or otherwise) I say to go for it. Nature is a tangible, real thing - no belief necessary - and if you feel like you want to worship and revere it then do. Make an altar, leave offerings, care for nature, devote your time and energy to it. Deity or otherwise, it will be appreciated. "Worship" is whatever you make it, so do what feels right- trial and error and is more than okay, take your time to figure out what calls to you.

Personally, I don't see any issue with worshipping metaphors/personifications. If you want to Worship the Moon - not Selene, not Artemis, not Máni - just the moon, then do it. If you want to Worship nature as *just nature* then do it.

Rituals, magic and all of that can be fun and fascinating, but it also isn't for everyone and there is no pressure for you to do it. If your Worship looks like sitting outside and appreciating nature for existing, then that is what you should do.

Rituals and spells also don't have to be "magical", they can just be symbolic if you wanted to dabble in them. Taking a cermaic plate with an ex-friends name on it and smashing it could be a spell, it could be a magical way to break the connection between you two, BUT it can also just be a symbolic way of ending your friendship and processing your feelings about that.

Tarot can absolutely be a psychological tool rather than a spiritual one! There's quite a few articles and papers online about people use Tarot as a therapeutic and psychological tool.

The important thing to remember is that you can experiment. You don't have to have it all figured out *right now*. Worship nature for a while, mess around with tarot cards and simple spells - discover what works for you, what feels right and slowly your beliefs will fall into place. Besides, beliefs change all the time, they're meant to evolve and shift as you grow and learn so don't be afraid of that, don't be afraid of being "an atheist who wants to be special" because no-one has the right to judge you.

When Percy enters the room, all eyes turn to him. He can't help but have a flash of anxiety hit deep in his stomach at all the eyes. Both monsters and demigods a like sitting at the long table. The eyes were all expressing different things. Mostly distrust. It makes him want to walk right back out.

"Percy! Good your here! Come sit by me, we were just about to discuss battle strategies." A warm and happy voice says.

Luke is at the head of the table, and it's the happiest Percy has ever seen him. His eyes are only for him. They caress his form up and down. Appreciating the nice casual dark blue suit jacket and new jeans he bought for him(https://images.app.goo.gl/m6voL599mtzBLHWf9). It's both a gift from Luke, and for Percy to be a serious impression. Or at least that's what Luke says. Honestly Percy feels like Luke just wanted an excuse ogle Percy's form in nice fitting clothes(not that he minded, nope not at all).

Percy walks right up to Luke. Passing by quickly many monsters. Keeping his head held high and trying not to be nervous. When he gets to Luke, he sees Ethan and Silena sitting on Luke's right hand side. Silena smiles in reassurance. Ethan just frowns. Before he can pull out the lone chair on the left, Luke makes a big statement.

Without a word he pulls Percy to sit on his lap. Percy blushes red, making his tan skin tint rose on his cheeks.

Percy embarrassed, whispers in his ear, "What are you doing asshole?"

"Setting some boundaries. They fear me, now. So they have to know your off limits."

Percy wanted to punch Luke for it, but at the same time he also found it incredibly hot and cute how protective he was. No one besides his mom ever felt the need to be protective of him. Coming from Luke, someone he thought he would lose in the worst way possible. It was a bit of an ego boost. It made his decision to leave with him all the more satisfying.

Percy decides to make a statement to, turns Luke's face towards his and kisses him fully on the mouth in front of everyone. That quickly pulls back to whisper in Luke's ear.

"Fine but it works both ways. If I'm yours, your mine. Got it?"

Luke's pupils widen at Percy's words. He full on smiles, showing his teeth. Pleased and happy at Percy's declaration of devotion. A vow.

"Got it." Luke squeezes his thigh, that they turn back to face table.

"Alright let's get to work."

They spend the next few hours at the meeting on Luke's boat. Percy learn all sorts of cool battle tactics from monsters who have lived and died for centuries and millenia. He even adds a few bits of input and ideas himself(who would have thought, camp half bloods big hero would be here, willingly helping to destroy the gods?). All the while Luke keeps him on his lap. The statement clear for all to see. I'm his and he is mine, and fuck anyone who tries to hurt us.

im in the final-paperwork stages of transitioning, and i found that I've lost some time to not knowing where to go the first time around/slightly unclear instructions on things/outdated lists of specialists

if I were to make a comprehensive document listing every specialist I went to and added detailed notes about the visit(s) (such as the exact address and location, average wait times, general advice etc) would that benefit anyone? I could write this out for 1) getting hrt (as an adult) 2)name change 3)sex marker change

i can add top surgery stuff once I start researching that, too

I have with clinical depression + adhd or autism im not sure yet. And yeah i have some "unsettling" traits that i tend to mask, and when i do unmask i feel weird and unsafe. Like talking abt my special interest..stimming..not talking..getting extremely upset over things that usually dont upset others.

Honestly, the best place to go is a place for people like you, if you're not feeling safe. They're more likely to get it. We're in Australia, so sorry if our information absolutely doesn't line up with where you're from--we tried to make this an overview.

I'd recommend looking up local in-person support groups, if possible. Spaces for people with your disorders or general mental health/disability groups. Sometimes it's hard to sift through the things that are meant for friends and family of those with disorders (especially autism mom type groups), or things that are overly clinical, but sometimes you can find something.

As for ways to find them....

Some local mental health clinics and doctors offices have a stash of flyers on the front desk from various organisations, you might find something helpful in there or on some website you find there. Some flyers advertise online chat services or multipurpose hotlines, and sometimes asking people on those can give you more resources to work with.

Try the local council, if you have one and they're chill enough. They usually have flyers or know of organisations around that might have events or social groups--in our country at least.

Also try Facebook--search general groups in your area and see if there's any mention of a support group--or hell, sometimes there's an online support group for people from your location right there, and sometimes they do have meetups.

If all else fails... Set aside time to fully unmask. Go into a private area, and be as autistic/ADHD as you can/want to. Stim to your heart's content, eat safe foods, adjust everything to suit your every sensory need that you possibly can. Have time for this set aside once a week if you need--hell, an hour a night or more, it doesn't matter. Whatever is manageable with your schedule. But we find that having scheduled "do whatever makes the disorders less disordering" time helps us when we're not able to unmask for a bit.

Anyone else is free to add on with ways to navagate the grey area between being safe and being unmasked--any input would be appreciated!

This project began because I was being silly and wanted my followers to read a fanfic where they could feel more like the main character and then snowballed into this huge thing, and while I am pouring time out of my personal time into the dating sim I am working at my own pace and because I wanted to share this in general, so i never planned on charging anything for it.

Once I have the sprites, some more backgrounds, art and more script finished I will post an unfinished version of the game so you guys can get an idea on how it's going to be, tell me when theres an error or suggestions, etc, my first players will be my friends on discord to test it out first

So tbth I tend to be pretty bad at favorite food hc bc I pretty much love all food and struggle to really determine what kind of food prefs characters would have, so I'll usually just completely make stuff up, which is nyot how I usually do things!! Of course w/ some of the UT characters thankfully we do have SOME input of their canon preferences...

However. As is the way w/ most things Papyrus I have thought abt the implications of the QnA waaay too much. As we know Flowey states Papyrus' favorite food to be dinosaur egg oatmeal, whereas nobody else knew and Papyrus himself stated not remembering. We also know, despite fandom portrayal, Papyrus has never actually eaten his own spaghetti, so we don't really know his thoughts on it.

The trick with Papyrus is that he lies all the time. He lies all the time! So does Flowey actually know his favorite? Or does he just think he does? Maybe he just made it up to sound knowledgeable. Flowey also lies (but possibly less so, or at least less smoothly than Papyrus, since usually Flowey will eventually state if he'd lied).

As a big fan of oatmeal myself, I do like to believe this is true, though, and it's fun to imagine that, while his favorite remains the dinosaur egg kind, that he gets very excited about the variety of other flavors once surfacing.

^ longest winded way possible to say that I like to hc Papyrus' fave food is oatmeal, BUT. I also like to imagine he likes fruity flavors, too! Like blueberry pecan or strawberries and crème <3

As for ht Papyrus, my interp Dove, I generally imagine having lived through a famine, amongst other things lol, it really changes the way you perceive food. While I definitely can't relate on that front, I do have experience having an incredibly limited diet bc of health reasons for several years. And now, I've always been a little bit of a """foodie""" (I really wanted to be a chef for most of my childhood), but coming out of that, I can say the way I perceive and appreciate food is undoubtedly different.

So with all of that completely unnecessary context, I imagine the types of foods and flavors Dove tends towards are very rich and rounded flavors, as opposed to how I'd imagine UT Papyrus seeks out brighter, sharper flavors. Not necessarily heavy, as I do still believe he'd be opposed to particularly greasy foods, but hearty stews, casserole type dishes, slow cooked oatmeal, rice pudding, you know what I mean? Probably mostly things that cook for a long time, things that thicken and develop complex flavors.

And, body willing when the chronic pain isn't too bad, I think he'd really enjoy making things as much from scratch as possible. I definitely think he’s more of a chef than a baker or patissier, so he tends toward savory more often than not, and avoids meats usually (not always an issue, but sometimes a strong aversion), so he'd probably cook a lot with rice and potatoes, all sorts of them and other root vegetables or squash.

I can't say I think he'd have any singular favorite food, but he would probably say all sorts of dishes are his favorites if he can smell them or is making it atm lol

I knooow you said I could add Papyri but I'm still going to apologize for this lmao, but I'm sorry, I have to add him or I'll Die / j but the aforementioned stuff I added abt my own experiences has really influenced how I write UF Papyrus post surfacing.

I've always been fond of the idea of things being worse in UF's underground in technical aspects too, like the CORE not functioning as well amongst other things that can cause complications in supply chains and production of necessary things, including food. Growing up with food scarcity constantly waxing and waning and never really ever being definably good wound up stunting most monsters knowledge of food.

So, suffice to say, once surfaced, there's a whole world of new things to discover and try and learn about. It's such a different experience than with HT, where they did have a reliable source of food and access to information about it, lost it, and then got it back (though I'm sure there still was plenty new stuff all the same).

Like, could you imagine having only ever seeing two colours for most of your life, and then seeing everything in full spectrum? So that's a driving force in what gets Edge so invested in cooking and baking. More than anything he wants to learn. It's exciting! And he can finally provide the ones he cares about with a surplus of high quality, well prepared nourishment. It's wild!

So similarly, he wouldn't really be able to choose one singular dish (might even say smth silly abt having to try every dish in the world before knowing for sure)...though I do love to hc that he has and always will have a soft spot for oatmeal made with a little honey and cinnamon <3

I can’t won’t take army seriously cause it’s a rinse and repeat thing to try and discredit JM and the smeraldo marching band for their work. Rm said something and i don’t think it even brought changes in Face, cause has we have seen it the lyrics written by JM in all positions on that sofa, most of them if not all made it. His melody made it.

I was so in awe of JM process, the way that the producers let him guide them., and take everything he said at heart. All the little input of how he want the track to sound. What to add. I remember once about Lie he said he is someone who can really write about his life experiences and i am so grateful that i witness it. I am extremely happy he went with producers in house after the documentary i don’t think anyone would have work so well with him and understand him well enough and his creativity to give us face as it is. Their working process was interesting to witness because they took into consideration every idea Jimin had and they stored it in case it could be of help later. Or they would play with the keyboards and something would come up. It really was like music camp or a months long retreat in which they all channelled their eforts and creativity towards making that album. The producers were also people that knew Jimin beforehand and they worked together for BTS songs and that familiarity must have helped a lot. It was a working relationship but also friendship there.

As to your question, it's not like Jimin didn't have any prior contributions to their concepts and especially melodies, but it's not something that was really highlighted coming from the group. There's always been this thing that the rap line is the more creative one, whereas the vocal line mostly executes and sings, with some changes over time. But just think of the bridges in some BTS songs or some melodies that turned out to be known and appreciated by the fandom and in kpop in general that came from Jimin. Like I said, it's not a secret, but I for one had to find out from their book in 2023 of JM's involvement in Idol and how his decision influenced the changes in the song. Or how after working on Black Swan and that concept, he wanted to go more in that artistic direction with BTS. The information is out there, but it's not common fandom knowledge on a larger scale. And Jimin is also not the type of person to bring up such stuff on his own.

im at a crossroads with this blog. i feel an expectation to live up to the OSHA thing, and i want to, but also... i want to continue offy's story, and roleplay.

theoretically, both could coexist, but i know the larger part of you all dont care about offy very much, and i feel deeply embarrassed when i do roleplay because of this. i appreciate the following i've amassed, but it's... a lot. and i'm tired and busy.

i haven't felt motivated to roleplay like i used to here for pretty much almost two years. the OSHAverse is pretty inactive these days. and i don't know how i want to close out offy's character arc.

diving into the roleplay thing more - i started this blog when i was a mentally ill 14 year old going into public school for the first time since the first grade. a lot of offy's earlier interactions and behavior reflects this, because i projected onto them and used them as a way to vent. i'm deeply unhappy with how i used to write them. if i could, i'd reboot them, but with the OSHAverse being the way it is... that's not easy. i'd have a hell of a lot of people to have discussions with, some of whom i haven't seen roleplaying in a year or more. and because the organizational system on my blog is a fucking nightmare, that adds another layer to the mess.

so im faced with a few decisions: keep going even though i really am unsure, move offy and their roleplaying onto another blog, or just do a mass retcon on this blog.

as to why i havent made another blog for roleplay in the first place - tldr i like attention. longer version is this has always been a roleplay blog so if you remove that its like. alright. what am i doing with myself now. i have all my followers here and shit, and i also value audience participation in offys story [even if i uh ... dont make it easy for you guys to participate]. but at the same time, i know you people arent here for roleplay. also im unfortunately deeply aware that a large part of the site considers the OSHAverse cringe

Omg you're all good! That's actually why I've run two Ezran Appreciation Weeks (although I still need to finish my fics for the second one, but life got unexpectedly super busy) and why I use the tag Ezran centric for fics that well, focus primarily on him and his relationships, rather than him being in a supportive or background role. I still wanna write a fic about him and Janai (maybe I can work it into a speculative S5 piece, since it seems like maybe we'll get to see them on screen together, and they had a Lot of parallels in S4).

But yeah there are definitely people in the fandom who aren't open to critique in how they treat Ezran. I once pointed out that hey, most of the time when his character is incorrectly tagged in a post, it's almost always in relation to his brother. Did not go over well, but I don't really care. It was still worth saying (and hopefully people will think a bit more thoughtfully about it too).

We could definitely all do more; I do my best to put dents in it when I can, but with varying degrees of success I'm sure

I have kind of a silly question given how long I’ve had my snake.

I’ve always used a heat pad with a thermostat for my BP, but I’d like to add a heat lamp so that the heating is more even/I can control the general temperature and the hot spot better

But I don’t know how heat lamps work. So I think I need a light bulb and a fixture, but I don’t know what kind of any of those (beyond it being a heat bulb). And is there a thermostat for heat lamps? How do I keep it from being too hot?

Hello hello, you're totally right than an overhead heat source will be much more efficient for your ball python!

You have a lot of options here, and I know that can be overwhelming! But here's the lowdown.

Ceramic heat emitters and radiant heat panels are what I personally use for my ball pythons, and which one you'll pick mostly depends on what kind of enclosure you've got. If your snake is in a tank with a screen lid, a CHE is your best bet. If your snake is in a larger PVC or wooden enclosure, you can do either but I generally find RHPs are more convenient. Both of these are really good at raising your ambient temperatures, the big note with them is that they will dry out your air so you'll need to be diligent with humidity. Provide a humidity box, large water bowls, use a moisture-retaining substrate, and mist as necessary, and you'll be good to go.

You can, if you're so inclined, experiment with a bulb that provides visible light. I personally avoid heat bulbs for my ball pythons and other nocturnal snakes, but it can work for you, especially if you'd like to try providing UVB while you're at it. I've found a lot of nocturnal snkaes won't appreciate it, but it can work for some. The big note here is twofold: make sure to avoid colored bulbs that produce red/blue light, they're annoying and your snake will not like them, and make sure you get visible light on a timer to keep your day/night cycles consistent. I'd avoid visible light altogether if your snake is albino or another morph with reduced melanin.

Right, now how to install those sources -

If you've got a screen lid and you're using a CHE or bulb, all you need is a dome. Make sure the socket is rated for the wattage of the bulb you're using - don't use a 150 watt bulb in a 100 wat dome, that's just asking for a fire.

If you're using a CHE inside a PVC or wooden enclosure, you're gonna want to install a cage. It's pretty easy, don't worry! If I can do it, anyone can. You're gonna need a lamp holder, and that'll just screw right into the top of your enclosure, and then you'll put a cage around it. Drill a hole for the cord and you're done!

A RHP is the easiest to install, you'll just screw it into the top and you're done.

And for regulating your heat sources -

You'll want a thermostat. Never use a heat source unless it's plugged into a thermostat! You can go as expensive as you like with your thermostats - Vivarium Electronics is the best on the market - but I genuinely swear by these bad boys that you can get for less than $20. You'll plug your heat source into it, pop its probe on your hot side, and it'll make sure your enclosure stays at the temperature you set.

Here’s the Lunar version of the doodle I posted yesterday! Eclipse is 16 years old in this au, so Lunar would be like 11.

His job is mainly a cleaner/butler since he doesn’t have the same skills his brother has. Due to this being his role however, he’s treated like essentially an inanimate object. 

He uses a lot of concealer, as he is hit all the time. But part of his role is to keep appearances up. No one wants their helper to be a bruised traumatized child, it fucks with morale. As long as he looks fine, that’s all that matters.

More about him personally; His image is important and highly maintained, and unlike Eclipse he is around lots of people. Eclipse doesn’t bother to take care of his appearance so his hair is an absolute mess and he is visibly exhausted, but Lunar is a lot more nice looking. Not to say he isn’t just as bad off as his brother. He uses extensive amounts of concealer to hide both the eye bags and the bruises. He also uses some blush to add color to his face so he doesn’t look like a walking corpse. Due to the fact that it’s always been so highly prioritized, he tends to get panicky when it’s messed up in even the slightest way. Part of keeping up his appearance is not letting himself be seen sad or angry, so he got into the habit of smiling 24/7- he would still be smiling even if someone broke a glass bottle over his head, at this point it’s compulsive and he likely couldn’t stop if he tried. It’s why I compare him to a doll a lot. That’s essentially how he’s treated- an inanimate object that can be picked up, moved, and hit with zero reaction or consequences. He gets genuinely confused when people ask permission to do things to him, like touch him or take something from him, because he’s so used to being treated like he’s just a doll. Something that looks pretty and can be played with however you want without any input or consent needed. 

Due to both his autism and his general personality, he is treated like cleaning and looking “cute” are the only things he can really do, so he lacks a lot of independence other kids at his age would have. He can’t read, write, or do math well because he never does it himself. It’s basically a case of being extremely infantilized other then the two tasks he’s allowed to do. Eclipse tends to contribute to this, though he doesn’t mean to. Just if someone gives him like something to read, Eclipse will take it from his hands and read it outloud to him instead of giving him the chance to do it himself.
